Rhys D. Llewellyn was admitted to the State Bar of New Mexico in October 2023. Born and raised in New Mexico, Mr. Llewellyn attended the University of New Mexico for both his undergraduate studies and his law school education. In 2016, Mr. Llewellyn graduated Summa Cum Laude from UNM with a Bachelor of arts in Classical Studies. After teaching English abroad, Mr. Llewellyn returned to New Mexico to obtain his law degree and graduated top ten in his class graduating Summa Cum Laude and Order of the Coif.
While in law school, Mr. Llewellyn was consistently on the Dean’s List. He was the source and cite editor for the New Mexico Law Review and participated as a member of the National Mock Trial Team all three years. As a law student, Mr. Llewellyn also worked as an extern for the Law Office of the Public Defenders for the Second Judicial District and the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico. Mr. Llewellyn also obtained experience in civil practice while working as a law student for various civil plaintiff and civil defense firms.
After graduating from law school and successfully sitting for the bar exam, Mr. Llewellyn clerked for the Honorable Kristina Bogardus of the New Mexico Court of Appeals. After his clerkship ended, Mr. Llewellyn joined DIXON•SCHOLL•CARRILLO•P.A., in September 2024 as an Associate Attorney.
